Round 4 in BCL Americas means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Sao Paulo where host BrazilianVivo/Franca (3-1) crushed league's leader Argentinian Instituto (3-1) 110-80 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Instituto. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Instituto 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. Sesi/Franca shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. Center Cristiano Felicio (210-1992, college: Oregon) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. point guard Georginho de Paula (197-1996) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Italian-Argentinian point guard Gaston Whelan (187-1994) produced 17 points and 7 assists and American guard Anton Cook (189-1995, college: SE Oklahoma) added 23 points respectively for lost side. Five Sesi/Franca and four Instituto players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vivo/Franca have a solid three-game winning streak. Sesi/Franca keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Minas and Instituto.
